The launch site at the base of the Hoover Dam is remarkable sight that only a handful of people get to experience. There are 2 launches everyday and only 15 canoes can go out at each launch. Because of this, it can sometimes be quite difficult getting the specific date you want. Permits are available 180 days out and sell out quick, so give us a call so we can start planning your Black Canyon canoe trip today! We do all the work for you by securing your permits to assure your trip goes off without a hitch. When you call to reserve a trip from the Hoover Dam, we will ask you to provide us with some information about you and your group. For groups of 20 or more, a manifest will filled out and sent in by us the week of your trip. Groups with less than 20 will need to provide us with the names of people going on the trip, an emergency contact not going on the trip, and credit card information. The list you give us can be changed up until the week of your trip. Be sure of when you want to go. Once permits are ordered, the National Park does not allow changes in dates or times or offer refunds. All permit sales are final.
The Hoover Dam Bypass Project is due to to be completed in November of 2010. Anyone who has been on this trip before knows how congested the road over the dam can be. The new road is a 3.5 mile corridor beginning about milepost 2.2 in Clark County, Nevada and crossing the Colorado River approximately 1500 feet downstream at Hoover Dam, then ending in Mohave County, Arizona near 1.7 milepost on U.S. 93. |
